Before you read the full document: These terms govern your use of Droppie. They apply to customers, merchants, and drivers. By creating an account or using any part of the Platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. We have written this in plain language where possible, but some sections are necessarily legal in nature.
1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to every person who creates an account on or otherwise uses the Droppie Platform, including:
- Customers — persons who use the Droppie app to browse merchants and place orders for delivery.
- Merchants — businesses and individuals who use Droppie Merchant to list products and receive orders.
- Drivers — individuals who use Droppie Go to accept and complete delivery jobs.
Where these Terms refer to “you”, they refer to the relevant participant category. Where a term applies only to a specific category, that is stated explicitly. “Platform” means the Droppie customer app, Droppie Merchant, and Droppie Go collectively. “Droppie”, “we”, or “us” means the platform operated by Ashlone Chibvuri, Harare, Zimbabwe.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on Droppie. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password or allow others to access your account. Any action taken through your account is your responsibility, whether or not you authorised it, unless you have reported unauthorised access to us promptly.
You must provide accurate and current information when creating your account. If your information changes — for example, your phone number or delivery address — you are responsible for updating it in the Platform.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that are used for fraudulent activity, or that pose a risk to other Platform participants. We will notify you of any suspension or termination except where doing so would compromise a fraud investigation or legal obligation.
3. Using Droppie as a customer
When you place an order through Droppie, you are entering into a purchase agreement with the merchant, not with Droppie. Droppie facilitates the transaction but is not the seller of the products you order. The merchant is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and fulfilment of the products listed on their store.
You agree to provide accurate delivery address information. Incorrect or incomplete addresses that result in failed deliveries are your responsibility. Droppie and the driver are not liable for non-delivery caused by inaccurate address information you have provided.
If you select cash on delivery as your payment method, you are obligated to pay the full order amount to the driver upon delivery. Refusing to pay a driver who has completed a delivery is a serious breach of these Terms and may result in account suspension.
You may cancel an order before the merchant confirms it without penalty. Once a merchant has confirmed and begun preparing your order, cancellation may not be possible and you may remain liable for the order cost. Specific cancellation windows are displayed in the app at the time of ordering.
You must not place fraudulent orders, orders with false delivery addresses, or orders with no intention to pay. Such activity will result in permanent account termination and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
4. Using Droppie as a merchant
By registering as a merchant on Droppie, you confirm that you are authorised to sell the products you list, that those products comply with Zimbabwean law, and that your business operates lawfully.
You are responsible for the accuracy of every product listing — including descriptions, photographs, prices, and stock availability. Misleading listings that result in customer complaints or disputes are your liability.
You must fulfil every order you accept. If you are unable to fulfil an accepted order, you must cancel it through the Platform as promptly as possible and communicate the reason to the customer. Repeated unexplained cancellations will result in your store being suspended.
You must not list products that are prohibited by Zimbabwean law, including but not limited to: controlled substances, counterfeit goods, stolen property, weapons, or any product whose sale requires a licence you do not hold.
Droppie charges a commission on completed orders. The applicable commission rate is disclosed to you at the time of merchant registration and is deducted from your settlement. We reserve the right to adjust commission rates with 30 days' notice.
You retain ownership of your business, your products, your customer relationships, and all intellectual property associated with your business. Droppie does not claim any ownership interest in your business by virtue of your listing on the Platform.
5. Using Droppie Go as a driver
Drivers on Droppie Go are independent contractors, not employees of Droppie. You set your own hours and are free to accept or decline any job offered to you. Droppie does not control how you complete your work, and you are responsible for your own vehicle maintenance, fuel costs, and compliance with Zimbabwean traffic law.
By registering as a driver, you confirm that you hold a valid Zimbabwean driver's licence, that your vehicle is roadworthy, that you have any required insurance for the operation of a delivery vehicle, and that you are legally entitled to work in Zimbabwe.
You must treat every merchant and customer with respect. You must handle goods with appropriate care. You must not tamper with, open, or remove items from an order. You must not misrepresent your location in the app or fraudulently claim completed deliveries that were not completed.
Your driver rating is based on customer and merchant feedback. We reserve the right to suspend drivers whose ratings fall below the minimum threshold for sustained periods, or who receive credible complaints about their conduct.
Earnings are paid based on completed deliveries as confirmed through the Platform. The per-delivery rate and commission structure are disclosed in the Droppie Go app. Droppie is not responsible for earnings not realised because you chose not to be available during a given period.
6. Payments and disputes
All payment processing is handled through Paynow, Zimbabwe's payment gateway. Droppie is not a bank, money transmitter, or financial institution. We facilitate the connection between payer and payee but do not hold funds as a financial product.
If you believe a charge was incorrect or unauthorised, contact support@droppie.online within 7 days of the transaction. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days. Disputes raised after 30 days of a transaction cannot be investigated.
Merchant settlements are processed on the schedule disclosed at merchant registration. Droppie is not liable for delays caused by the payment gateway, banking system failures, or factors outside our reasonable control.
7. Prohibited conduct
The following are prohibited on the Platform and will result in immediate account termination and potentially legal action:
- Using the Platform to facilitate illegal transactions, including the sale of prohibited goods or services.
- Creating fake accounts, fake reviews, or fake orders for any purpose.
- Attempting to manipulate ratings, pricing, or any other Platform metric.
- Accessing or attempting to access another user's account without authorisation.
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Platform.
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate any part of the Platform.
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other Platform participants — customers, merchants, or drivers.
- Using the Platform to collect personal information about other users beyond what is disclosed in the course of a legitimate transaction.
8. Limitation of liability
Droppie provides the Platform as a facilitator of commerce and delivery. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of products sold by merchants. We are not responsible for the actions of individual drivers beyond our reasonable duty to verify their basic credentials.
To the fullest extent permitted by Zimbabwean law, Droppie's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
9. Intellectual property
The Droppie name, logo, mascot, and all Platform design, code, and content are the intellectual property of Droppie and its founder. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without written permission.
By listing products on Droppie Merchant, you grant Droppie a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your product images and descriptions on the Platform for the purpose of facilitating sales. This licence ends when you remove a listing or close your account.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 14 days, disputes will be submitted to mediation or the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Zimbabwe.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated to you through the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
