Droppie is an early-stage company. We are a small team building Zimbabwe's commerce platform from scratch. The work is hard, the problems are real, and the impact — if we do it right — touches the livelihoods of thousands of traders and hundreds of thousands of customers across Zimbabwe.

If that kind of work appeals to you, keep reading. If it does not, that is fine too — this is not a place for people who want stability above everything else.

Not a list of perks and ping-pong tables. The honest version.

Small team, real ownership

There are not many of us. Which means every person on the team owns significant parts of the product and the company. That is energising if you want to build things and difficult if you need structure and clear job boundaries. We expect people to care about the whole, not just their assigned piece.

The problems are genuinely hard

Building for Zimbabwe's informal economy is not simple. Payment fragmentation, address infrastructure, trust dynamics, data costs — these are real engineering and product challenges that do not have off-the-shelf solutions. You will need to think, not just implement.

We move quickly and change direction

We are launching and learning. Things that seem like the right decision today may look wrong in three months when we have user data. We need people who can change course without feeling like they failed — iteration is not failure, it is the process.

Zimbabwe comes first in every decision

Every product decision, every feature prioritisation, every design choice runs through the same question: does this serve the actual people using this platform in Zimbabwe? Not an imagined global user. Not a benchmark from another market. The vendor in Mbare. The driver in Highfields. The customer in Chitungwiza.

No bureaucracy

There is no HR department, no performance review cycle, no committee for anything. If you need something to do your work, you ask and we figure it out. If something is broken, you fix it or flag it immediately. We move at the speed that the market requires, not at the speed of internal process.

Compensation is honest

We are early-stage. We cannot compete with multinational salaries. We will not pretend otherwise. We offer a fair market rate for Zimbabwe-based talent, equity where it is appropriate to the role, and the chance to be part of something that grows significantly if we build it right.
